Police stopped roughly 250 vehicles Friday night, checking for drug/alcohol impairment
A 57-year old Welland man has been charged with obstructing police, driving while prohibited, and refusal to comply with demand after a RIDE check Friday night.
Police say they stopped roughly 250 vehicles, checking for alcohol or drug impairment, and had 18 drivers give breath samples.
Two drivers had an Alert reading, leading to licence suspension for 3-days.
As for the Welland man, police soon found he wasn't supposed to be driving under the Criminal Code, refused to give a breath sample, and was arrested.
His vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
