Diana Huson says to always go with the decision that scares you the most, asked her colleagues to keep fighting for Niagara
A Niagara regional council chair is about to become open, as of March 15th.
Diana Huson, representing Pelham since 2018, is stepping away from politics after taking on a new job.
She thanked Chairman Jim Bradley for his guidance over the last few years. "And that's true for many of my colleagues in this room, you've challenged my ideas, you've made me fight for the things I believe in.... I admire all of you.... keep fighting for Niagara."
Chair Bradley noted her accomplishments, including heading Niagara's first Women's Advisory Committee.
She also shared some words of wisdom.
She says to always go with the decision that scares you the most, that's where the most growth is. "No matter how educated, talented, rich or popular you think you are, how you treat people ultimately tells all. Integrity is everything, listening is an art that requires attention over talent."
She received a standing ovation during council meeting last week.
