Police tried to help man from 4-storey building
A Niagara regional police officer has been found not responsible for injuries a man received in a fall last September in St. Catharines.
Police were called to a 4-storey apartment building, to find an angry and agitated 33-year old hanging from the edge of the roof.
He threatened to jump, as police tried to get him to safety.
Police add he lost his grip, suffering multiple fractures and a brain injury in the fall to the pavement below.
The Director of the Special Investigations unit found the officer acted with care for the man's safety, but unfortunately not able to prevent the fall.
