Pack your patience for the volume of traffic and road closures
Have you heard about this cool celestial event happening in Niagara? Officials are expecting a lot of people will be heading to the region starting this weekend, so expect lots of traffic congestion beginning this Friday and building until the time of the eclipse.
The congestion will affect many local Niagara roads and provincial highways. Niagara Regional Police have released a map of the affected areas that will be closed to vehicles starting Monday morning.
Beginning at 11:00 am on April 8th, many roadways in #NiagaraFalls will be closed to vehicular traffic and not reopening until April 9th.
Please plan ahead to adjust travel plans for closures.
Additional closures may be required.
These road closures are to assist in the movement of emergency vehicles. Local/employment/emergency access will be available.
