Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates says government keeps trampling on workers' rights
Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates, and two of his colleagues, re-introducing the Anti-Scab Labour Act.
He is joined by France Gelinas of Nickel Belt, and Sudbury's Jamie West, and doing it in honour of MPP Peter Kormos.
Wayne Gates says over and over again, the Conservative government has trappled on worker's rights, when locked out, using scab workers to do the work.
He adds there is no incentive for employers to bargain, if they can replace locked out workers.
MPP West says the legislation, introduced for the 17th time, prevents employers from using replacement workers while there is a strike, which lengthens labour disputes.
