Waiting for word from the Ontario Labour Relations board
Classrooms will remain empty, as students in the Niagara region and beyond will not be heading to school again today.
Parents received notice yesterday, again advised to wait for further notice concerning a strike by education workers.
The Ontario Labour Relations Board must decide if the walkout is illegal, a decision it says is unlikely before the school day starts today.
55,000 workers represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees walked off the job Friday to protest legislation passed by the provincial government.
