Canadian travelers who have received both COVID-19 shots will soon be able to skip the mandatory two-week quarantine requirement upon return to the country.
Beginning July 5th, people eligible to travel to Canada will need to show proof that they received two doses of a Health Canada approved vaccine, and proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours before arrival.
They'll also need to take a second test upon arrival, and have a quarantine plan in case they test positive.
Those who can travel to Canada include permanent residents, citizens, and anyone registered under the Indian Act.
Travelers unable to show proof of both shots will still need to quarantine in a hotel for up to three days while they await their test results, then quarantine at home for the rest of the two week period.
Unvaccinated children can still come home with their parents, but will need to quarantine at home for 14 days and take another COVID-19 test eight days after getting home.
