The additional money is part of a province-wide growth strategy to train more nurses by 2029
Brock University is receiving over $2.4-million from the province to expand enrollment in nursing programs.
The school says this will enable up to 60 additional nurses to be trained by 2029, meeting demand in hospitals, long-term care homes, community health centres and primary care clinics in Niagara.
Brock University is also receiving another $500,000 to buy supplies and lab equipment, that comes from a one-time provincial investment of $7.5-million.
The government says this is all part of a $56.8-million nursing investment province-wide, to add 2,200 nurses by 2029.
