City of St. Catharines says four people to appear in court
Four people will appear in Ontario court this month to answer to charges related to the destruction of trees in St. Catharines.
The city says it's been looking into the destruction of trees and plants at Martindale Pond area.
There's a total of 776 charges, each person faces 194 counts.
The city adds each offender faces a minimum $1,000 fine each offence, or $10,000 fine.
It also says protecting trees and green spaces is not only a duty of the city, but a collective responsibility.
