Fifty year old man found dead following disturbance
A 35 year old man is facing a murder charge in a Welland incident.
Officers were called to a disturbance at a home in the area of Division Street and Alexander Street Saturday night around 11:40.
When police arrived they found three people at the home, two with significant injuries.
A fifty year old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second, who is 68 years old, was taken to a local hospital but has since been released.
Further identifying information and the cause of death are not being released at this time.
Police say the suspect, 35 year old Joel Dreaver, knew the victims.
Dreaver is charged with second degree murder, aggravated assault and two counts of assaulting police.
Police say several residents witnessed the arrest, and two forward to help officers struggling with Dreaver.
Two officers sustained minor injuries during the arrest.
