Welland Fire Crews Battling Blaze

House in flames on Thorold Road near Northhaven Road

Welland firefighters are on the scene of a blaze on Thorold Road near Northhaven Road.

Crews were called to the area around 11:00 a.m. this morning.

When firefighters arrived, there were flames coming from the house.

Welland Deputy Fire Chief Bert Lamoreux tells us nobody was inside the home at the time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Lamoreux says at the time, it appears to be accidental.

A damage estimate has not been provided.
