The federal government is increasing fines for air travelers who choose not to quarantine at a designated hotel.
Effective tomorrow, travelers will face a fine of $5,000 instead of $3,000.
Some have chosen to cough up the cash instead of submitting to the process, which includes taking a COVID-19 test and the airport and staying at a hotel for three days while waiting for the test result.
This comes after a federal advisory panel raised concerns about the program last week, recommending the government get rid of it.
