Police say the incident allegedly happened in Mount Carmel Park last month
A teenaged boy has been arrested for public mischief after police say he lied to them about a robbery.
Police recall it was June 25th, at around 8:30pm, when they were called to Mount Carmel Park in Niagara Falls, to reports a youth had been robbed.
They were told by the teen that four other youths approached him, demanding his running shoes.
He claimed when he refused, he was assaulted.
Police say after interviewing a number of witnesses, and after media releases, a robbery did not happen.
The teen was released, without any charge, as an extrajudicial measure, in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
