Walter Sendzik says politics not a career job
In a surprise move St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik announcing he will not be running in the fall municipal race.
In an interview with the St. Catharines Standard, the two term mayor says the goal was always to make a difference and pass the torch.
He tells the paper he believes politics should not be a career job.
He adds "the best decisions that councils and people make are when you have a change of ideas by new people coming to the table who want to have that same civic duty but don’t want to be there forever."
In the last municipal election he received nearly 72% of votes.
