Conservative Fred Davies wins Niagara South, amid Liberal minority win
Almost all of Niagara has gone Tory blue after last night's federal election.
Tony Baldinelli was returned to Niagara Falls, as was Dean Allison to Niagara West, Fred Davies took Niagara South from Liberal Vance Badawey, and Liberal Chris Bittle kept St. Catharines.
During his victory speech last night, Prime Minister Mark Carney says the country works when Canadians work together.
He pledged to unite a divided country in the face of ongoing tensions with the United States, acknowledging the people who did not vote liberal.
But he and the rest of the country won't know until later today whether the Liberals have won a majority or minority mandate from voters.
Elections Canada has continued counting special ballots with a handful of ridings still too close to call.
