Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect For Niagara

Environment Canada says the region could see severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Niagara.

Environment Canada says there could be severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong winds up to 90 km/h, as well as local heavy rainfall and large hail.

The thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break tree branches and overturn larve vehicles.

Heavy downpours can result in water pooling on roads and flash floods.

You're advised to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
