A Canadian music icon has died.
Robbie Robertson, who led the Band, has passed away at the age of 80.
His manager says he was surrounded by his family when he passed.
Robertson wrote some of The Band's signature songs, including "The Weight" and "Up on Cripple Creek."
The Band got their start in the early 1960's, and in 1994, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
