The NRP set up check points Friday night across Niagara
Here are the latest results from police for weekend RIDE enforcement.
They set up check points Friday night in Port Colborne, Welland, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls.
Over the course of the evening 397 vehicles were checked, and 12 drivers were asked to give roadside breath samples.
Police say one driver was charged with impaired driving, one received a 3-day licence suspension for a breath test that showed "alert", and there were 16 other traffic related tickets given.
Police add impaired driving remains the leading criminal offence causing death in Canada.
