There's a long list of new features, that includes environmental changes, after $6.9-million renovations
An impressive list of changes and upgrades to Sunset Beach in St. Catharines, after a $6.9-million construction period.
It was guided by the 2019 Sunset Beach Community Vision Study, and supported by $4.4-million from the provincial government.
The city has a lengthy list of renovations, such as new playground, the largest in the city's history, a rebuilt boat launch, and separate pedestrian walkway to the main entrance.
There's a newly paved parking lot, with 185 spots, up from the previous 150. There is paid parking, though, to September 30th. It'll cost $3.25 an hour, at Sunset and Lakeside Parks.
The city adds other important improvements include enhancements to stabilize the shoreline, also tree trenches to soak up underground stormwater, and areas to manage rain water run-off.
