Officer stabbed working in homeless camp
Tragedy for the RCMP in Burnaby, BC.
Canada's police force says 31-year old Constable Shaelyn Yang was stabbed to death Tuesday while working at a homeless campsite.
Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald says she had been an officer since 2019 and worked with a mental health and homeless outreach initiative.
She was stabbed during ``an altercation'' while she partnered with a city employee.
The suspect was shot and is in hospital.
