They're running from Ingersoll to St. Catharines today.
INGERSOLL/ST. CATHARINES - The Race Against Darkness is officially underway.
AJ Howard left the CAMI plant in Ingersoll at 7:30 a.m. today this and he's going to run all the way to the St. Catharines GM Plant. He's doing this with Todd Stevenson and two others, to shine a light on men's mental health and suicide awareness.
"We're really excited to go this. It will be a long 30 hours, but in comparison to what other people are going through, it will be a piece of cake."
It's about a 152 to 166 kilometre trek and they had a group of 16 volunteer runners joining them for the first 10km of the run this morning. They will meet up with other group of runners for the final 10km in Niagara.
The entire run is being live streamed on the Race Against Darkness Instagram page.
This fundraiser is in partnership with the Buddy Up campaign and they're hoping to raise $10,000 when all is said and done. They were just shy of that goal with over $9,500 as of 9:30 a.m. and you can donate to the cause online here.
