Canada Border Services Agency says someone jumped off a train in Niagara
Border patrol in the Niagara region have captured someone who tried to enter Canada after jumping off a freight train that had just crossed the International Railway Bridge.
The Canada Border Services Agency says it and the RCMP began Project Disrupt and Deter in December, to try and stop human smuggling at the border.
They say someone recently jumped off the train as it entered Canada, and tried to make it to Fort Erie.
However, police say they intercepted this individual, as well as two other people who were waiting for this person, all involved in human smuggling.
The person who jumped from the train was determined to be inadmissible to Canada, and sent back to the US.
