Port Colborne Mayor says there will be a review in mid-September, after Canada Day trouble
A collaboration between Sherkston Shores and the City of Port Colborne to ensure trouble that happened Canada Day does not happen again.
Mayor Bill Steele says the resort management has committed to increased registration of renters and visitors, including government issued ID in advance of arrival.
Pre-registration of visitors will also be needed, and no day passes.
Sherkston has also agreed to a full review of its perimeter, to reduce trespassing.
The mayor adds there will also be increased police patrols, as well as private security by the resort.
He met with police, fire, Ward 4 Councillor Monique Aquilina, and the resort yesterday, and they came up with six points to reduce future problems.
There will be increased traffic calming measures on Empire and Pleasant Beach roads to address speeding and other unsafe driving habits.
The mayor adds the resort is private, and for parents not to drop off teens or young adults, unless otherwise registered.
There will be another meeting in mid-September to go over progress.
