The Town of Pelham is moving forward with its watermain flushing program.
This will help to maintain the drinking water quality during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The work started on Monday and it will continue throughout April.
Crews will clean the pipes and circulate water within the system.
If you see them flushing fire hydrants in your area, don't turn on your taps or flush your toilets.
This could draw sediment into your water pipes, water meter, hot water tank and water filters.
Residents may experience discoloured water or a drop in water pressure, but it won't last very long.
If you have cloudy or rusty water, officials say you should run the cold water tap in your basement.
If you experience a loss of water or discoloured water for longer than 10 minutes, you should call 905-892-2607 with extension 332.
