Thousands of charges laid
The OPP says it was a "tragic" long weekend on highways.
There were eight fatalities on OPP-patrolled roads.
Six were killed in road collisions, one in an off road vehicle crash, and one in a boating incident.
During this weekend's traffic blitz, over 7,000 charges were laid.
There were 4,341 charges laid for speeding, 369 for lack of a seatbelt, 182 for impaired driving and 43 for distracted driving.
Police also laid 131 charges against drivers who didn't follow the Move Over law.
