A St. Catharines driver arrested for having more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in the blood has had licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7-days.
Police set up RIDE checks on Saturday in St. Catharines, Thorold and Niagara Falls, stopping about 350 vehicles.
24 drivers had to give breath samples, and the St. Catharines driver registered a fail, leading to the arrest.
There were two other drivers who received a 7-day licence suspension, for registering in the Alert range.
Police also handed out tickets for driving while under suspension, having expired permit, using a cell phone, and 3 charges for not having children properly secured.
