NY State Mask Mandate Begins Today

Fines of up to $1,000 for non compliance

Starting today all businesses in New York State, who do not require customers to show a vaccine certificate, are under orders to implement a mask mandate.

Facing rising numbers of COVID-19, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the new mask rule which covers any indoor space that is not a private residence.

Last week, the governor ordered nearly three dozen upstate hospitals, including seven in Western New York, to stop elective surgery, in order to secure enough beds in the event of a surge in cases.
