Program provides law enforcement training to those who wish to become a police officer.
The Niagara Regional Police Service is bringing back the Auxiliary Officer Program.
The program was suspended due to COVID-19, and a recruitment drive has begun.
The Auxiliary Officer program provides a way to give back to the community while providing training for people who want to become a police officer.
Successful candidates will receive law enforcement training and will be able to assist the NRPS in uniform at events.
The NRPS hopes to recruit 40 new auxiliary officers to begin training next year.
