SIU says the officer did nothing wrong when motorcycle rider crashed his bike in Fort Erie

A Niagara Regional police officer has been cleared of doing anything wrong after a man riding a motorcycle was hurt in Fort Erie.

It all started in the early morning of June 29th, when police got a call about an impaired motorcycle rider.

When an officer tried to pull the motorcycle over, the rider took off eventually turning down King Street.

Police say the officer followed, but soon stopped after it became evident the motorcycle rider wasn't going to stop.

The 27-year old man riding the bike soon crashed, but Ontario's Special Investigations Unit ruled the officer was far enough back not to have influenced the crash.
