NOTL Fire and Emergency Services Introducing New Decontamination Program

According to a University of the Fraser Valley study, firefighters are three times more likely to die from a cancer-related illness.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire and Emergency Services is now doing something about that, by introducing a new Decontamination and Hygiene Program.

Local firefighters will be able to decontaminate their clothes and gear while on site. They will also be able to use industrial washing machines and dryers back at the station.

Over 100 volunteer firefighters serve in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
