Environment Canada reporting a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for most of the Niagara region this afternoon into this evening.
The weather agency says these types of thunderstorms are capable of producing strong wind gusts up to 100 km/h, large hail up to 2 cm in diameter and heavy rainfall of 50 mm within an hour.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management is recommending you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
