It'll be at the corner of Ferry Street and Clark Avenue, not far from Clifton Hill
We'll be seeing a new hotel development go up in Niagara Falls, at the corner of Ferry Street and Clark Avenue.
Council unanimously approved it, with Mayor Jim Diodati noting it's been roughly 16 years since the last was built.
Planner Max Fedchyshak says there'll be two towers, with a walkway between. "Tower 1, along Ferry Street, is proposed to have 273 rooms, with 275 rooms being provided in Tower 2, along Clark... a total of 478 parking spaces will be provided in a 4-storey parking podium."
There are a number of restaurants there, to which council hopes they can be added to the plans.
Councillor Ruth Ann Nieuwesteeg spoke to the planner about this, addressing concerns of current restaurant owners that work on that corner.
"People can be creative, so, maybe through you, you said you were taking it back to the applicant, perhaps their businesses can somehow, if they're successful businesses, be designed into these different things, I don't know how that works."
City planners say there will be about 548 jobs added to the local economy.
There is no word on when the actual work would begin.
