Provincial government spending more on Victim Services of Niagara, and the NRP
More provincial help is coming for victims of crime in Niagara.
The Ontario government is spending almost $400,000 on Victim Services of Niagara and the NRP through the Victim Support Grant Program, that'll support survivors of crime including intimate partner violence and human trafficking.
Executive Director of Victim Services Niagara Tarryn Dungey says the money enables them to hire a "dedicated subject matter expert", to work in collaboration with the human trafficking unit.
Police Chief Bill Fordy adds protecting people from those who wish to harm them is a responsiblity taken seriously, and policing is not only enforcement, but prevention and supporting victims.
