The school says this is in response to the federal government's plan to hire more officers
Niagara College is making sure law enforcement students are prepared as the federal government increases border security and hires 1,000 border officers.
The school says its School of Justice and Fitness program, run by former border agents, prepares students in psychology, criminal and civil law, also contemporary social issues, and the use of AI.
Niagara College is combining traditional coursework of hands-on learning, using a state of the art simulation lab, as well as training in mock interviews with police recruiters, and ride along with the NRP.
The school adds its facilities are so advanced the local police often use them for their own training.
Not only are there opportunities with the border, but also other police forces.
