The government says this will support agriculture
A new centre at Brock University supporting research and innovation for Niagara agriculture is open.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff announcing this recently, with the help of a $3.5-million provincial investment of the Clean Agriculture for Sustainable Production Project.
The government says the centre, at the Norris Walker Research Farm, will support Ontario's grape and wine industry.
This means developing more resilient grape varieties, with the help of energy-smart greenhouses, early warning systems for growers, and other improved technology.
It's part of an overall $92-million investment, province-wide, delivered in 2024, for agriculture.
