Users to receive email informing them about who can access their account outside of their home
Netflix Canada is rolling out plans to cut down password sharing.
The streaming giant says Canadian subscribers will get an email today, letting them know who can use their account outside their household.
Under the new rules, premium and standard account holders will be able to add extra members for $7.99 a month.
Premium high-definition 4K subscribers will be able to add two people who don't live with them, while standard subscribers will be able to add one additional person.
Basic and ad-supported plans will not be able to add more members.
The company says over 100 million households share accounts, making it more difficult to invest in new TV shows and movies.
