Go Transit workers will not be hitting picket lines on Halloween.
Metrolinx says it has managed to avoid a strike that would have affected GO Transit service starting October 31st.
According to an internal company memo, COO Martin Gallagher says the union is presenting a new offer to its 2,200 members.
He says the tentative deal will go before workers on November 1st.
Trains and buses will continue to operate as scheduled.
Contract talks between the union and Metrolinx began in April, and workers have been without a contract since June.
Last week, members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1587 voted in favour of a Halloween strike deadline if a deal wasn't reached by that point.
