Police say a substance was poured into the fountain
Niagara Regional Police are investigating after a water fountain in Welland was damaged.
Investigators say the fountain at Merritt Park was vandalized at some point between the evening hours on Sunday, June 18th, and Tuesday, June 20th at 8:30 a.m.
A substance believed to be motor oil was poured into the fountain.
The cleanup cost is estimated to be between $3,000 and $5,000.
