Police were called in January to a St. Catharines home to find a man dead, investigation led to the arrest yesterday during traffic stop
A Toronto man has been charged with manslaughter after a St. Catharines man died of a drug overdose.
Police were called to a home in the Lloyd and Rykert Street area of St. Catharines in January, over reports a 37-year old man was dead.
Once they learned this was due to a drug overdose, police identified a suspect, who was arrested during a traffic stop yesterday.
Police say 37-year old Anthony Clarke is also charged with trafficking of fentanyl, and cocaine, and other charges.
During the traffic stop and arrest, they found:
- 34.3 grams of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $3,4030.00
- 95.7 grams of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $9,570.00
- 68 suspected hydromorphone pills with an estimated street value of $340.00
- Over $450 in Canadian currency
The accused remains in jail pending a bail hearing today.
