Police say suspect hit another man in the head with gun, then threatened woman with the same
A Thorold man is facing a number of charges after an assault in St. Catharines.
Police were called just before 10, yesterday morning, to the Pine and Albert Street West area.
They say a man and woman were in the area, when another man walked up to the two and hit the first man in the head with a gun, and then threatened to do the same to the woman.
Earlier today police arrested Jonathan V. Barry, charging him with:
- Assault with a weapon (2 Counts)
- Careless storage of firearm
- Ammunition: Careless storage
- Firearm: Tampering with serial number
- Firearm: Use while committing offence
- Firearm: Unauthorized possession
- Firearm: Knowledge of unauthorized possession
- Firearm: Possession contrary to Order (3 Counts)
- Disobeying Court Order
Police used a warrant and found he had a gun with ammunition, and 2 airsoft guns.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
