Police say they had to use a taser, after the man resisted arrest for assault with a weapon
A confrontation in downtown St. Catharines has led to the arrest of a man for assault with a weapon.
Police were called yesterday afternoon by a business employee in the St. Paul and James Street area concerning a man with a knife in front of the store.
They met up with two victims, a man and woman, and learned the suspect got into a landlord, tenant dispute over repairs.
It got worse when the suspect showed a knife in a threatening way.
Police found the suspect on James Street, and had to use a taser as he resisted arrest.
57-year old Alain Joseph Cloutier of St. Catharines had a bail hearing today.
