Statistics Canada says last month, inflation held steady at 6.9 percent, after declining for several months in a row.
The agency says gas prices and higher mortgage rates put upward pressure on inflation.
This was offset by a slowdown in price growth for groceries and natural gas.
In October, grocery prices rose by 11 percent, which is down from 11.4 percent in September.
