NRP closed in on a rural Niagara on the Lake address this morning
Update Tuesday afternoon:
We now know who police were seeking, after surrounding a Niagara on the Lake rural property this morning.
NRP say they've arrested 19-year old Larry Smith, wanted for a gang sexual assault and robbery in St. Catharines on September 15th.
That's when police say 4-people broke into a house, sexually assaulted a woman, and then stole some items before leaving.
He's being held in custody pending a bail hearing expected today.
He's charged with:
• Break and Enter - Commit Gang Sexual Assault
• Break and Enter - Commit Sexual Assault with a Firearm
• Break and Enter - Commit Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm
• Break and Enter - Commit Mischief under $5000
• Break and Enter - Commit Theft under $5000
• Gang Sexual Assault
• Sexual Assault with a Firearm
• Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm
• Mischief under $5000
• Theft under $5000
• Use Firearm During the Commission of an Offence
• Pointing a Firearm
• Fail to Comply with Release Order
• Possession of Firearm, Weapon or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 Counts)
Meanwhile, police have also arrested another 17-year old boy police say was involved.
That happened Thursday, and had a bail hearing on Friday.
He was charged with:
- Break and Enter - Commit Gang Sexual Assault
- Break and Enter - Commit Sexual Assault with a Firearm
- Break and Enter - Commit Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Break and Enter - Commit Mischief under $5000
- Break and Enter - Commit Theft under $5000
- Gang Sexual Assault
- Sexual Assault with a Firearm
- Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Mischief under $5000
- Theft under $5000
- Use Firearm During the Commission of an Offence
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
The two other suspects, a 17-year old boy and 24-year old man, have been charged with similar offences.

Niagara Regional Police are asking residents in Niagara-on-the-Lake to avoid a rural property due to an investigation.
There is a large police presence on Line 6 Road near 4 Mile Creek Road.
In a tweet, the NRP confirm they were conducting a wanted person investigation.
The male suspect is now in custody.
Police say they'll release more information later today.
