A local health expert is providing tips on how to keep kids active during the lockdown.
Josh Gomer, a Personal Training Specialist with Goodlife Fitness in St. Catharines says there are many ways parents can encourage their kids to remain active.
He says one thing that parents can do is have kids earn screen time by doing physical activities.
"If they want more screen time, they have to earn it through physical activity time. If they're stuck inside, get them to sweep, get them to clean, get them to do some chores, get them to run up and down the stairs, get them to do push ups, things like that."
He also says parents should find ways to make exercising fun for kids.
Some ways parents can make physical exercise enjoyable for kids include allowing them to play video fitness games, or going outside in the cold and building a snow man or making snow forts.
