Introducing Shelly the Turtle Mascot!

We have our mascot for the 2021 Canada Summer Games in Niagara; Shelly the turtle!

The big unveiling was on Sunday, during Rogers Hometown Hockey in Welland.

Juan Jose Arbealez came up with the design and Naturelle Gerrard chose the gender-neutral name.

Arbaelez is currently a Grade 9 student at Jean Vanier in Welland, while Gerrard is in Grade 5 at Westmount Public School in Thorold.

On top of winning the mascot challenge, SPARK Niagara presented both Arbealez and Gerrard with their own Google Chromebook.
