Woman's Body Found in Park

Update: Police confirm it was a murder, after a woman's body was found at Charles Daley Park this week, with traumatic injuries

As a result of an autopsy, police are confirming this is murder.

They also say the woman was from outside the Niagara Region, and her identity is being withheld as police look to notify those who know her.

Police add the scene at the park has been examined, and been reopened to the public.

The body of a woman has been found at Charles Daley Park in Lincoln.

Police were called to the park late this morning, to find the body with traumatic injuries.

The homicide unit has taken over what it's calling a suspicious death investigation.

Police are working to find out who the woman is, who is described as: 

-        25-40 years old

-        Height: 5’3” – 5’5”

-        Weight: 130-150 lbs

-        Long, dark curly hair

-        Believed to be of South Asian descent

She was wearing:

-        Pink zip-up hoodie – ‘Playboy’ logo

-        Light blue jeans

-        Black shirt

-        Grey socks

-        Gold hoop earrings

Police are asking anyone who was at Charles Daley Park in the 24 hours before 11am to reach out to them.

At this time, police don't know what type of relationship, if any, there was between the victim and unknown suspect or suspects.  They also cannot confirm if this was a random or targeted act, and ask the public to remain vigilant and call police with any type of information that could help sort out what happened.

A heavy police presence remains in the area.
