Wayne Gates is calling for OHIP coverage for PSA testing for prostate cancer.
The Niagara Falls MPP introduced a private members bill on the matter last year and now he's calling the bill for a second reading.
This means the Ontario legislature will debate the bill and vote afterwards.
Gates says this test can save lives.
"When detected early, the survival rate for prostate cancer is close to 100 per cent. Ontario is currently one of only two Canadian provinces that do not cover the cost of the PSA test for men upon physician referral."
