Residents advised to run water after maintenance is complete
Starting this morning until 4 this afternoon, the city of Port Colborne and the Niagara Region will be doing maintenance on a number of fire hydrants.
The locations include, Elizabeth Street at Killaly, King Street, between Elgin and Delhi, Fielden Street at Killaly and Bell at Welland Street.
The city says while the water is safe to use during the hydrant maintenance it may be rusty in colour which could stain laundry.
Residents are encouraged to limit their water use and wait until hydrant maintenance activities have finished in their area.
Once maintenance is finished, residents should run the cold water tap in the lowest level of their home until the water runs clear.
