Education Minister Considering Making Online Learning Permanent

The province’s Education Minister admitting he is considering making remote learning a permanent part of the education system moving forward.

Steven Lecce says his team consulting with a variety of partners in education on how to potentially create a system that is safe, but also provides parents the choice that he thinks Ontarians benefited from this past September.

He says a decision will be made in the coming weeks.

The head of the Elementary Teachers Federal Sam Hammond was quick to condemn the move

Sam Hammond says the move to virtual learning was never intended to be permanent adding the plan will divert funds from public education to private companies.
