Police say the driver was speeding on Lake Street in St. Catharines yesterday afternoon, when the vehicle hit a utility pole
A 40-year old St. Catharines resident has been charged with driving while under suspension and careless driving after a utility pole was knocked over.
Police got the call late yesterday afternoon, about a single vehicle crash in the Lake Street and Pinedale Avenue area.
They determined an Elantra was heading north on Lake at a high rate of speed, when it hit the pole, knocking the pole from it's foundation.
Police say the road was closed until 4:45 this morning.
There were no injuries, the driver has a future court date.
